ABOUT JEFF

Jeff is a leader

Jeff has been a Morris Township resident since 1997, and first started running for office because he wanted to make a difference in his community. He is serving his 13th year on the Morris Township Committee, two terms as Mayor, and is proud to be the first-ever democratic mayor of Morris Township. 


During his time as mayor, he has been extremely successful in effecting change and implementing new initiatives, by bringing constituents together. Scroll down to read about all his initiatives and accomplishments.

Jeff is a Visionary and Innovator

Jeff is an innovator and visionary. He holds a Bachelor’s in Economics and Operations Research from Cornell and a Master’s in Industrial Engineering from Columbia. 


He spent 13 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb, excelling in marketing and international business development, launching a consumer health division in China. 


Today, as President of G3 Medical Development, he partners with his cardiologist father to design and patent life-saving heart devices. He currently has 13 patents to his name. 


His engineering precision and real-world results prepare him to solve problems in Washington as effectively as he has in Morris Township.

Jeff is a Community advocate

 Jeff supports the broader community by serving on boards for organizations that advocate for the special needs community, the environment and a children’s museum, among others:

  •  Morristown Jewish Center​, Board of Directors 
  •  Special Needs Athletic Programs (SNAP), Board of Trustees

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Attracted NEW Businesses that provide A STRONG commercial tax base

  • Red Bulls Soccer Club makes Morris Township the home of their new training facility at the former Honeywell site. 
  • Restoration Hardware to transform The Abbey Mansion into a showroom with a restaurant. 
  • Morgan Stanley and Zelis lease 170,000 SF in Morristown. 
  • Morris Marketplace Mall has been transformed to a destination for residents with two pedestrian plazas and a park for children. 

Expanded Our Network of Sidewalks

  • New sidewalk on James Street connecting a large neighborhood to downtown Morristown.
  • New sidewalk along Sussex Avenue that will extend from Patriots path all the way to Morristown border, connecting to our Streeter recreation facility and downtown Morristown.
  • Other sidewalk projects include: Sherman and Gregory Avenues, Kennedy Road, and a section of Woodland Avenue adjacent Old Glen Road.

Implemented New Land-Use Ordinances

  • Better defined the OS/GU zone.
  • Created new guidelines for building new schools and Houses of Worship
  • Adopted design standards to ensure that all new construction meets certain quality guidelines

Improved our Municipal Infrastructure

  • Continue to implement several major roadway reconstruction projects.
  • Extended our sewer system to the Skyline Drive neighborhood, thus reducing the number of septic systems in our town.

Adopted a Traffic Calming Policy

  •  Implemented measures to slow down cars cutting through our neighborhoods.
  • Raised intersections being installed on Sherman Avenue to slow down speeding vehicles.

Installed New Electronic-Vehicle Charging Stations

  • Approved 10 locations across town for EV-charging including town hall and Streeter Pool.

Established New Advisory Committees

  • Transportation Advisory Committee focused on improving travel and transportation modes for walking, biking, driving, and parking.
  • Senior Citizen Advisory Committee makes recommendations regarding the needs of senior citizens.
  • Economic Development Advisory Committee completed the first phase of a visioning process for the future of the Madison Avenue corridor.

Building Improvements

  • Built a Community Garden on Picatinny Road.
  • Renovated Convent Station waiting rooms.
  • Introduced the Township’s single-use plastic bag and uncontained bamboo bans.
  • Preserved additional lands for open space.

Economic Developments

  • Maintain stable lower tax rates in Morris Township.
  • Work with surrounding communities to share services, reduce costs and lower taxes.
